Nearly 14 years of violence have left cities, towns and villages devastated. Many returning families are finding their homes destroyed, their livelihoods lost and their communities deeply scarred. For refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) coming back from neighbouring countries, the journey home is only the beginning of a long road to recovery.
Rebuilding Shaam will take many years. That is why Abdullah Aid is committed to walking alongside families as they reintegrate into their homelands.
Through our Rebuild Shaam Programme, we support families who wish to return to Syria but are financially strained and vulnerable. Every day, thousands continue to arrive, yet many have little or nothing to return to.
Our efforts focus on:
- Family Sponsorships – Providing financial assistance to help families meet their essential needs as they restart their lives.
- Empowerment Initiatives – Supporting sustainable livelihoods and helping families regain independence.
- Shelter Support – Assisting with home repairs and safe accommodation for returning households.
- Food Assistance – Ensuring families have access to nutritious meals during this critical transition period.
